Bahrain Grand Prix Removed From F1 2011 Calendar

Islam Times - FIA the governing body of Formula 1 have confirmed that the Bahrain Grand Prix shall not be a part of the 2011 season programme...

Islam Times: The Bahrain Grand Prix was initially set for the 13th March 2011 but in February due to safety concerns was postponed due to safety concerns.

Initially Bernie Ecclestone the chairman of the FIA decided in favor of the Bahrain Grand Prix and was confirmed that he shall fit it in on 30th October 2011, thus he had a change of heart after hearing the fears from all the Formula 1 Teams and decided on a re-election. In the re-election the World Motor Sport Council have unanimously voted against staging the GP in Bahrain and it will now be hosted in India instead.

This is very bad news for the Bahraini Rulers who also have lost a major golfing tournament in the past few weeks due to safety concerns.

On the plus side this shall give the Bahrain protests the much needed media attention and justice they deserve as over 20 lives have been taken since its start on February 21st 2011. The issues in Bahrain have been given the blind eye and instead the issues in Libya have been in focal attention.
